Wave Period

The term 'Wave Period' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' (1) the time required for two successive wave crests to pass a fixed point. (2) the time, in seconds, required for a wave crest to traverse a distance equal to one wave length'.

The term 'Wave Period' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' Time, in seconds, between the passage of consecutive wave crests past a fixed point. '.
